The Rising

Monday, 23rd July 2012

When Bruce Springsteen sang "can't see nothin in front of me, can’t see nothin coming up behind" from his classic song The Rising it was like he had written the song especially for the impressive Flying Pegasus debutant The Rising.

A $60000 purchase from the Magic Millions in 2011 by Trevor Andrews, The Rising had shown plenty of ability before going shin sore earlier this year and heading to the paddock.

"He ran a couple of nice trials behind some smart types last preparation, but went shin sore so we had to tip him out,” Andrews said.

A very impressive...

The ladies were out in there full finery on Saturday for the running of the Belmont Oakes.  The program was sensational with the Group 3 Strickland Stakes and the Dayana Plate accompanying the Oaks, great racing brings great great crowds and Perth Racing would have been extremely happy wit the turn out. Racing Belmont Park Saturday 2/7/2011

Tuesday, 5th July 2011

The wet weather descended upon Belmont Park for the week leading up to Saturday, but the amazing Belmont Park track once again came through and produced the goods for all concerned.  Saturday's meeting although not having a feature event the racing was extremely competitive and some very promising horses appeared.  The early domination of Saxon two year olds continued with the heavily supported My Bonny Lad winning the two year old event with something in hand and he appears to be a horse to follow in the future.  The Bob Peters show continued to roll on with another three...

British Day at Belmont Park 25/6

Tuesday, 28th June 2011

Tuesday, 21st June 2011

Eight races were run on saturday 18th, with all eight races being won by WA bred Thoroughbreds, again another triumph for the strength of our local breeding industry. that should never be underestimated by anyone.  The main race of the day was the running of the WA Winter Championship Final and the ever consistent Our Ol' Fella for the Steve Wolfe stable finally broke through this campaign after a frustrating run of unlucky placings.  Another good winner from the David Harrison stable was the Akhenaton two year old Akhedasset, ridden by young apprentice Renee Forrest and he looks...
