Rocket Man wins Kranji Stakes

Australian bred sprinter Rocket Man had an impressive five lengths win overnight in the $125,000 Kranji Stakes A over 1200m. Rocket Man, who's sire Viscount stands at WA's Oakland Park Stud, started favourite and will now travel to Japan to contest the 1200m Gr 1 Sprinters Stakes on 2 October.
Rocketman has had 21 starts for an amazing 17 wins and 4 second placings. Viscount is standing this season at Oakland Park Stud with a service fee of $9,900.

WA bred horses were to the fore on Friday night 10/6/2011 with two winners. The first was Dragon Gate, a Bletchley Park gelding out of Dauberval's Prayer, winning over 1000m for trainer T.Kieser and ridden by J.Moreira. The second winner for the Desmond Koh stable was Dynamic Master, a Helenus gelding out of the Metal Storm mare Steely Gaze, a winner over 1900m, continuing Helenus stocks great recent form.

In Singapore yesterday, triple Gr1-winning WA Oakland Park Stud-based sire Viscount (Quest For Fame-Antwerp, by Sir Tristram) added a Gr1 triumph when front-running Australian-bred 5YO gelding & Singapore's highest-rated galloper Rocket Man (Viscount-Macrosa, by McGinty) raced away for a 4.8-lengths victory in the S$1 million (A$800,000) Gr1 KrisFlyer International Sprint (1200m) at Kranji to improve on his runner-up efforts in this same race in 2009 & 2010.
