Heytesbury Stud Open Day

Tuesday, 14th June 2011

Heytesbury Stud Annual Open Day, Sunday 2011 August 14th 11 a.m.

Heytesbury Stud will hold its Annual Open Day, Sunday August 14th @ 11 am. In what’s become a regular event in recent years, the Heytesbury Stud Open Day this year will be significant in as much as it will also be Heytesbury’s 40th Anniversary as a Thoroughbred Stud Farm.

To help celebrate this memorable occasion there will be stud memorabilia on display, including the 1984 Melbourne Cup won by the Heytesbury bred and owned champion Black Knight.

As the breeding season approaches, don’t miss this opportunity to view our stallions, Saxon and Husson Lightning on parade, along with a sample of their progeny.

At the time of writing, Saxon had been represented by five first crop winners making him the Leading First Crop Sire in WA by individual winners, Leading sire of Two Year old’s in WA by individual winners and equal third First Crop Sire in Australia by individual winners.

Husson Lightning’s oldest progeny now just yearlings, have also made a fantastic impression on his supporters with yearling’s selling for up to $95,000 and favourable feedback coming in from breakers and trainers alike on their temperament, action and ability. We eagerly look forward to their racetrack debut’s later this year.

To complement the day, those in attendance on the day will have the opportunity to win a Free Stallion Service Fee for the 2011 season to either Saxon or Husson Lightning*.

(*Conditions apply – see entry form and conditions listed in the main marquee on the day)

Vasse Felix wine tasting, finger food and light refreshment’s will be available on the day.

All racing and breeding enthusiasts are welcomed, so pencil Sunday August 14th in your calendar and we’ll see you there.
