Stallion Tender Scheme
The Stallion Tender Scheme (STS) developed by TBWA, (or WABBA as it was then), was designed for two purposes.
Firstly, it aimed to provide the smaller breeder (who had only one or two mares) the opportunity to access a range of stallions at a reduced price. The people who used the scheme often didn’t have the buying power to negotiate reduced service fees for the majority of the stallions offered in WA.
Secondly, it was a fund raiser for the Association which provided the much needed revenue to service the industry and membership.
While the STS has operated with a degree of success over a number of years, a recent review of the scheme highlighted that while still supported by some stallion and broodmare owners, interest in the scheme had diminished. Feedback was simple and direct
The STS needed to:
• have more stallions;
• provide the same conditions that apply with standard nominations (eg live foal guarantee or free return); and provide an incentive for the stallion owner to be involved.
By including the 2012 Stallion Tender Scheme in the TBWA Stallion Promotion Package, the above points are well and truly covered and we are set to have the best array of stallions the scheme has ever had involved – thanks to the generous support of the stallion owners.
This edition of Sunspeed Stallions, which includes the Stallion Tender Scheme has been sent to all breeders who returned a mare in the last breeding season as well as a further database of breeding enthusiasts.
Each stallion available for tender is highlighted on his page with a logo linking him to the scheme and will be offered with a free return – a huge plus for the breeders. For a list of Stallions available for tender Click Here
