Nui Mara Farm sire Beaugondo was represented by his first winner with his first starter at Narrogin on Saturday.

His mare Gondo Rose scored a first-up victory in the Wagin Plumbing Maiden (930m) for owner-breeders Barry & Jan McRostie and Greg & Deanne McRostie.  She had been placed twice at Northam during a winter prep and the McRosties also raced her dam Opus Rose (Statoblest) to wins at Bunbury & Pinjarra.

Beaugondo is by Snippets sire High Rolling from Melbourne stakes performer Gondobelle (Gondolier).  He was purchased by agent John Chalmers (FBAA) on behalf of the McRosties as a yearling at the Adelaide Magic Millions.

Trained by Graeme Webster snr, he won 4 races at Ascot in just 7 starts and was also runner-up at Listed level in the Challenge Stakes.

The McRostie family is coming off a successful spring carnival with their Caulfield stakes winner Miss Rose De Lago and they also have a trio of Beaugondo two year-olds in work for their first preparation.

Nui Mara Farm studmaster Keith Reeves stood Beaugondo for a $1,500 (inc gst) service fee at Boyanup this year.
