Danehill Express sired a winner a day in the first week of March and the purple-patch can continue at Bunbury this Sunday.
The Munrup Stud stallion can claim black-type on the first day of the south-west carnival with The Cobbla (LR WA Breeders’ Classic) and Dream Lifter (LR Bunbury Stakes).
The Cobbla (3g Danehill Express – Rivotion by Rivotious) is peaking for trainer Stephen Miller following a close second in the Magic Millions 3YO Classic and late-closing fifth in the LR Challenge Stakes.
He’s a half-brother to G2 WA Guineas winner Vain Crusader (Kenvain) and cost $40,000 at the 2014 Perth Magic Millions for a syndicate comprising Kieran Glynn, Tony Buhagiar, Neil Pinner & Arthur Barrett.
Dream Lifter (6g Danehill Express – Ebony Storm by Metal Storm) is on a hat-trick in the Bunbury Stakes after feature wins in the Mungrup Stud Sprint and LR Cyril Flower Quality. “He’s only lightly-raced because of hoof issues and his best may still be in front of him,” trainer Paul Hunter said this week. “I don’t think 1400m will be a problem and he will be suited at Bunbury.”
Dream Lifter is a $6 chance in pre-post markets and is part of a three-way challenge for Mungrup Stud in the Bunbury Stakes. Red Ora (Due Sasso) is the opening $3 favourite and top mare Wink And A Nod (McFlirt) is at $11.
