Alfred Nobel’s English 4yo Chetan continued his great form by winning the Totetrifecta Handicap (1200m) at Chelmsford on Tuesday.
Chetan, the 7/2 second favourite, led for a convincing two length success from Fujin (Oasis Dream) with a neck to Champagne Bob (Big Bad Bob). Ridden by Adam Beschizza for Essex trainer Charlie Wallis, he had won his previous two starts when also successful over 1200m at Yarmouth and Lingfield.
It continued Alfred Nobel’s English winning run following his 3yo Ripoll at Wolverhampton on August 16.
Ripoll was ridden by Tom Marquand for Lambourn trainer Sylvester Kirk to beat Ballyer Rayer (Dylan Thomas) and Himalayan Queen (Poet’s Voice). The win was overdue with Ripoll having finished second at Leicester, beaten a neck, and second at Bath, also beaten a neck, at his previous two runs.
Alfred Nobel, with 49 individual winners, is WA’s most promising young sire and stands at Lynward Park Stud, Bullsbrook, for $4,500 (plus gst).
