Dynamite bolts in for Alfred Nobel

Alfred Nobel 3yo Our Dynamite gained an explosive five-length debut win at Trentham on Saturday.

Our Dynamite, ridden by Lisa Allpress for Wanganui trainer Wayne Marshment, sat on the pace in the Vision Enhancement Maiden (1200m).  He then led into the straight, kicked clear at the 150m and was eased well before the win to score in 1.12.82 on a Slow 9.

“He started at $4.40 and won like a $1.10 chance,” said the course announcer.  “He gave them a towelling and won as he liked.”

Our Dynamite, bred and raced by former WA trainer Kevin Mahoney, is from the four-time Bletchley Park winning mare Gold Park and is a half-brother to the six-time winner Uma Park.

Gold Park is a three-quarter sister to 12-time winner Superb Effect, the 2002 champion older male sprinter in Singapore, and a half-sister to the 16-time winner Finito (Group 3 Strickland Stakes-twice, R.J. Peters Stakes and Bunbury Cup and Listed Bunbury Stakes-twice and WATC St Leger).

Mahoney has a 2yo colt by Dalghar from Gold Park in NZ and he sent the mare back to Dalghar who is owned by WA breeder Neven Botica.

Alfred Nobel (Ire) stood for a $4,950 (inc gst) fee at Lynward Park in 2016.
