Spangled Impact tops Perth Autumn Sale

Group 2 filly Spangled Impact made $95,000 to top the Magic Millions Perth Autumn Sale on Friday.

Ascot trainer Mike Santich had purchased the Demerit filly for just $2,000 as a yearling at the same venue in 2015.  She was bought as a broodmare prospect by a Magic Millions client based in NSW.

Spangled Impact is from a half-sister to Group 1 star Old Comrade and earned over $285,000 following a victory in the Crystal Slipper Stakes and a second in the Karrakatta Pate.

Santich also sold Perth winner and $250,000 earner Glitterbell (Proart) to Victorian-based David & Kayley Johnson of Rushton Park for $26,000.  The former WA couple run a very successful operation in Tatura.

Bob Peters entered 8 lots topped by this season’s York winner Compelling (Onemorenomore).  She is a half-sister to Group winners Hardrada, Ranger and Storm Alert and was sold to Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock Agency (FBAA) for $58,000.

Perfect Rose (Domesday) made $57,000 from the same draft to owner George Palatinos.  She carried the cerise and white-crossed sashes to a debut win at Bunbury in November and is a descendent of Mungrup Stud mare Bonny Guest who is the first or second dam of 9 stakes winners.

The Perth Autumn Sale grossed $423,500 at an average of $17,646.
