In a major blow to the Western Australian breeding industry, excellent-producing stallion Demerit was euthanized at Rangeview Stud on Monday morning after being found with a broken tibia in his paddock.
The recently syndicated son of Lonhro had been transferred to Rangeview in May following the death of Taunton Vale owner Kent Johnston.
The progeny of Demerit have been performing at a 64% winners to runners strike-rate. His flying filly Agent Pippa blitzed a handy field at Rosehill recently at her first start for new trainer Kris Lees. Her full brother Double Digit clained his tenth race at Belmont Park last Saturday following the Belmont winners Danny George and Defiantly.
Demerit was expected to cover 100 mares during the upcoming stud season.
