Delayed Westspeed bonuses have propelled the earnings of Blackfriars to $5,014,102 for season 2018-19.
Arion Pedigrees calculated Blackfriars a convincing winner of his 9th consecutive WA title last Thursday (August 1) with earnings of $4,992,102.
However, another $22,000 in Westspeed bonuses was added more the 72 hours after the close of the season to send him over the $5 million mark for the fourth year in a row.
Blackfriars sired his first winner of the new season when Scenic Lord won the $50,000 Port Hedland Cup (2200m) on Monday. The 9yo veteran has won 6 of his 63 starts for Forrestfield owner Natalie Burke and was coming off a victory in the Ladies Day Cup at Port Hedland on July 21.
Scenic Lord was bred by Scenic Lodge and his dam Jacita (Scenic) won at Ascot and Belmont for Dan Morton. She is a three-quarter sister to LR Seymour Cup winner Panoramic Lad (Scenic).
