Sessions is looking for another good horse to join his $725,000 earner Massimo and he may have found one with the Justine Erkelens-trained gelding Big Screen.
Massimo is a Listed winner of the Farnley Quality and Placid Ark Stakes and he’s ready to return to racing with Adam Durrant following a good second to flying stablemate This’ll Testya in a recent trial at Lark Hill.
Big Screen is by Sessions from G2 Karrakatta Plate winner Motion Pictures (Oratorio). The only other galloper with that cross is Old Bailey who brought up a third win in his last four starts at York on Easter Monday.
Erkelens prepares Big Screen for owner-breeder Don Hammarquist and the gelding opened his account with a powerful victory in the Mumm Champagne Maiden (1500m) at Ascot on Good Friday. “He has a high cruising speed and the trick is to let him roll forward,” Erkelens said. “I think he’s definitely a nice stayer in the making.”
