SUMMARY:Thoroughbred Breeders Australia - Management Skills Workshop
DESCRIPTION:These fully funded workshops are specifically designed for middle management and supervisory staff to enhance their leadership and communication capabilities\, enabling participants to grow in confidence and effectiveness within their roles.  Now in their fourth year\, the workshops consistently receive over 90% satisfaction ratings and offer practical\, evidence-based tools to support leadership development in the thoroughbred breeding industry. \nOver two days\, participants will: \n\ndevelop greater self-awareness and leadership insight;\nlearn strategies for leading and influencing others effectively;\nbuild skills to manage pressure\, navigate difficult conversations\, and support team performance; and\nreceive a personalised communication and work-style profile to enhance ongoing learning.\n\nEach workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Morning tea\, lunch\, and afternoon tea are included. \nAttendance is free\, but places are limited. DESCRIPTION:(Times to be confirmed) \nJoin Western Australia’s thoroughbred breeding community to celebrate the winners of our awards\, enjoy some fantastic Westspeed Platinum racing and soak up the atmosphere and hospitality of Ascot in Summer. \nDesigned as an opportunity for breeding teams to attend as a group for a Christmas celebration – bring your team\, bring your friends and get ready for an exciting day of racing! \nTBWA is delighted to subsidise the cost of tickets for its members at a reduced rate of $175 per ticket (cost $250). \nTickets can only be purchased until 1 December as final numbers for the event must be provided to Perth Racing by that date. \nYour ticket includes: \n\nRacecourse admission\nAccess to the Sky Villa Marquee function\nFood & Beverage package for the duration of the event\n\nTimes will be confirmed closer to the day once the race card is finalised (event opens 30 minutes before Race 1). There are a total of 10 races scheduled for Westspeed Platinum day. \nWe have a host of awards being presented on the day including our popular Staff Awards. We are continuing to develop the program and are working to include additional content\, which will be shared with members once confirmed. \nTo complement the forum\, TBWA will also host a Cocktail Evening on Wednesday\, 10 June\, providing a relaxed opportunity for members to socialise\, network\, and connect with key speakers and fellow industry participants ahead of the forum. \nWe are pleased to confirm that both events are FREE for TBWA members\, although registration is mandatory. Non-members are also warmly welcome to attend\, with attendance available for a nominal fee of $100 + GST which includes both events. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to invite you to join our annual celebration of the Western Australian thoroughbred breeding and racing industry. \nThis year promises to be a fantastic day of celebration\, recognition and industry camaraderie\, as we come together to acknowledge the achievements of the people who contribute so much to our industry. \nWe hope to continue our Stallion Leaderboard competition which fostered plenty of healthy competition at last year’s event\, and are currently seeking a sponsor to support this fun feature and continue to recognise and engage the state’s Stallion owners. \nA highlight of this year’s event will be the launch of the TBWA Industry Awards\, a rebranding of our Staff Awards.  Invitations for nominations will be sent out later this week.  The deadline for this year’s nominations is 1 December 2026. \nThe new awards have been designed to recognise the broader contribution of people working throughout the thoroughbred industry\, from those who are new and making their mark\, through to individuals who have dedicated much of their working lives to our industry. \nThere are four exciting categories: \n> Industry Newcomer Award\n> Horsemanship Award \n> Lifetime Achievement Award\n> Thoroughbred Care & Welfare Award \nWe look forward to celebrating the nominees and announcing all of our Award winners winners on Awards Day. \nTickets for the 2026 Awards Day retail at $250 per person\, however\, TBWA is pleased to subsidise every ticket by $50\, meaning members can attend for the reduced rate of $200 per person. \nThis subsidy is part of TBWA’s commitment to bringing our industry together and ensuring our annual Awards Day remains an accessible and enjoyable celebration for our members and the wider industry. \nA limited number of race sponsorships will also be available for businesses and organisations wishing to support the event and showcase their involvement in the WA thoroughbred industry. \nExclusive Members rate for Race Sponsorship – $1\,000 + GST \nRace sponsorship will provide an excellent opportunity to promote your business as part of the Awards Day program\, with race naming and associated sponsorship recognition. \nAdditional function tickets for race sponsors who are TBWA members will also be available at the further subsidised rate of $175 per person. \nPlease note that the exclusive members rate only allows your breeding operation to be associated with the race sponsorship\, and not any other businesses you may be involved in.  If you choose to sponsor a race for a non-breeding operation the rate of $1\,250 (+GST) will apply\, with additional tickets available to purchase at $200 per person. \nWith only a limited number of sponsorship opportunities available\, we encourage interested businesses to contact TBWA early to secure their preferred opportunity. \nThe TBWA Awards Day is an opportunity to put aside the busy year of breeding and racing and come together as an industry to recognise achievement\, celebrate our people and enjoy the company of fellow breeders\, owners\, trainers\, professionals and industry participants. \nWe look forward to welcoming you to the 2026 TBWA Awards Day at the spectacular Sky Villa Marquee at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday\, 19 December.
