Lynward Park Stud completed a running double with Bondi’s Future and Simply Thinkin’ at Belmont on Wednesday and the Adam Durrant-trained 3yo stablemates won’t be long graduating from the midweeks.

Bondi’s Future was headed in the straight but wouldn’t lie down for Clint Johnston-Porter in the Lexus Of Perth Hcp (1600m).  Johnston-Porter also earned his percentage on Simply Thinkin’ after peeling off heels in the nick of time to win the Drummond Golf Hcp (1400m).

Lynward Park sire Bondi (Snitzel) is flying at the top of the WA second-season table following a big pay-day plus black-type for Bondi Bubbles in last month’s RL Magic Millions 3YO Trophy (1200m) at Pinjarra.

The winners have continued to flow in March with Icebergs, Beach Pad and Krysanova before Bondi’s Future added two more on a three-day turnaround.

“He had won at Geraldton on Sunday and I was surprised to see him backing up,” Lynward Park manager Troy van Heemst said.

“It was a gutsy effort and that will to win is a common denominator with Bondi.  They’re very competitive.”

Bondi’s Future is a homebred for Mingenew couple Rod and Tania Cosgrove from Futurism (Lonhro) who won six races up to a mile at Belmont and Ascot for trainer Neville Parnham.

He was born at Lynward Park and so was Simply Thinkin’ who sold for $70,000 to Durrant Racing through the Bullsbrook stud’s consignment at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions.  “She’s a very talented filly and she’s by So You Think (NZ),” van Heemst said.  “It’s also heartening to see Adam’s support being rewarded.”

Simply Thinkin’ is one of five winners from Simplyirresistible (Royal Academy) and the mare has a yearling filly by Bondi and a weanling colt by Gingerbread Man.

Lynward Park bought into the family when purchasing his second-dam Windana (Danehill) from Collingrove Stud for $72,500 at the 2005 Magic Millions National Sale when she was carrying Simplyirresistible.  Her final foal Fear The Wind (Fiorente) was last seen nailing a picket-fence in the $100,000 Rogan Josh Hcp (2200m) at Belmont in June 2023.
