Bondi Plunge made it back-to-back wins at Belmont on Saturday giving trainer Dan Morton every reason to believe she can continue going through the grades this season.
Given time to find her feet behind speedy front-runner Cross Statement (Press Statement), she angled off the running line after turning for home to establish a winning margin in the Pinnacles Carnival Hcp (1200m).
The consistent daughter of Lynward Park stallion Bondi has only finished out of a place twice in 15 starts for earnings of $175,000 and that includes Westspeed Bonuses of $55,000. She was a $35,000 buy from the consignment of Dawson Stud (as agent) at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions.
“Bondi Plunge didn’t need to improve too much on the back of her last prep,” Morton said. “She can be quirky but was well-mannered today. She’s matured and strengthened and there’s no need to stretch her out too far to find another good assignment.”

Bondi sired her from Le Plunge (Tobougg) who was a front-running Group 3 winner of the 2010 Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m). She has foaled four winners for Anita Vale Stud owners Robert and Ann Anderson with the Bondi filly following Idle Star (War Chant), Fiery Combat (Shrewd Rhythm) and Porphyrio,(War Chant).
Her 2yo is a Maschino filly named Caffe Amaro with David Caterino.
Bondi (Snitzel) was Champion WA Second-season stallion in 2023-24 with a rising 3yo crop headed by RL Magic Millions WA Trophy winner Bondi Bubbles. Lynward Park has also been in the frame as a vendor with its Magic Millions graduates Made In Mexico (So You Think) and Looks (Star Turn) both recent winners at Pinjarra.
Lynward Park stands Bondi for an unchanged $6,600 (inc GST) service fee this season. For bookings or further information, contact Troy van Heemst (0439 957 111) or John Chalmers (0418 948 604).
