Maschino sired his 9th black-type winner on Saturday when Machine Gun Gracie put more than three lengths on some smart fillies in the LR Natasha Stakes (2200m) at Ascot.
Machine Gun Gracie (3f Maschino – Gracie May by Written Tycoon) is a nominal favourite for the G3 WA Oaks (2400m) on Saturday week, April 5 following that stylish victory over Twilight Tale (Savabeel) and Funchal (Playing God). She also heads pre-post markets at $2.60 against the boys in the G2 WA Derby (2400m) on April 19.
Maschino (Encosta de Lago) has built an 18% stakes-performers to winners strike-rate with fillies the calibre of Bonjoy, Snowchino and Lonsdale Lady all landing black-type at a mile and further.
The Alwyn Park resident wasted no time producing another WA Oaks hopeful while Machine Gun Gracie was resting back home at Muchea with trainer Justine Erkelens.

Idodomya (3f Maschino – Dodoma by High Chaparral) went out an even-money favourite and that price reflected her superiority when letting down for Chris Parnham. “She looks a talented stayer in the making winning over 2000m,” Morton posted on Instagram.
“That was only her third start and it was great to get a win on the board for Trevor and everyone Wyadup Valley Farm.”
On Monday, Delroy confirmed Idodomya will go to the WA Oaks as long as she pulls up well and trains on. A south-west breeder for over 30 years, Delroy has a second-to-none record of breeding Group 1-winning stayers like Cedarberg (ATC The BMW), Ethiopia (ATC Australian Derby), Gondokoro (Queensland Oaks) and Zabeelionaire (SA Derby).
Idodomya descends from one of HH The Aga Khan’s most distinguished Group 1 families. Her Irish-bred second-dam Daleela (Grand Lodge) is a half-sister to Daliapour (Sadler’s Wells) who won the 2000 Coronation Cup (2400m) at Royal Ascot and Hong Kong Vase (2400m) at Sha Tin.
