Geisel Park-bred sprinter Repeater is on a hat-trick after storming home to win the TABtouch Hcp (1200m) in a canter at Pinjarra.

Trained by Jade Tangaroa at Karnup, Repeater is unbeaten this prep following a front-running win at Bunbury last month and a runaway victory over Hey Pino (Maschino) and Let’s Talk (I’m All The Talk) last Wednesday.

“Our stable jockey Brayden Gaerth gave him an 11/10 ride,” Tangaroa said.  “He loves to run and won with ears pricked.  It’s just such a pleasure to take him to the races.  He goes to sleep and then turns it on at the track.”

Repeater (4g Universal Ruler – Foundry Court by Starcraft) was bred by Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg in partnership with Roy Harper and is a full-brother to Estimator who has won twice in town to date for Tangaroa.

Foundry Court was a Pinjarra maiden winner for Ted Martinovich prior to a near-hind leg issue curtailing her career to seven starts.  Her latest foal is a weanling colt from the first crop of Geisel Park sire Aysar (Deep Field).

Second-dam Flight Path (Bletchley Park) was a three-time Ascot winner and also earned black-type with placings in a G3 Champion Fillies (1600m) and LR Ascot Guineas (1800m).  Her older half-brother Scenic Shot (Scenic) won four Stakes races in Perth before progressing to Group 1 victories in two Doomben Cups and a Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington.

In other Geisel Park news, Manhattan Rain can post his 20th Stakes winner before season’s end with New York Lustre in the G3 Bletchingly Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on July 26.  The progressive mare is all the better for a gallant second when racing first-up in the G3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

“I was extremely proud because she went into the race underdone,” trainer Enver Jusufovic explained.  “She thrives on racing and looked the winner before being run down so there’s certainly improvement into the Bletchingly.”

New York Lustre (5m Manhattan Rain – Copper by Shamardal) had nailed a picket-fence of five wins in a row earlier this season before a road trip to Adelaide went pear-shaped in May.  Black-type beckoned in the G3 Proud Miss Stakes (1200m) but she was a late withdrawal after being kicked by another runner in the gates.

Manhattan Rain received another update when Repossession won the LR Beaufine Stakes (1000m) at Pinjarra a fortnight ago.  The 3yo son of Sessions is raced by Gangemi Thoroughbreds and they also have his rising 2yo half-sister by Manhattan Rain.

Former Geisel Park sire All American was also name-checked on Monday at the world-renowned JRHA Select Yearling Sale in Hokkaido.  His Champion Australian Filly Yankee Rose had a colt by Kitasan Black (Lord Kanaloa) sell for the equivalent of AUD3.20 million to Danox Company owner Masahiro Noda.

Yankee Rose was purchased privately off the track by Northern Farm owner Katsumi Yoshida and is proving an astute broodmare buy for the Japanese breeding supremo.  Her Champion Japanese Filly Liberty Island (Duramente) was a Triple Tiara heroine but, in a tragic turn of events, she was fatally injured during the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin in April.

It sparked widespread sadness from Liberty Island’s adoring fanbase and numerous floral tributes were placed under her statue at Kyoto Racecourse.

All American (Red Ransom) died in November 2024 and his rising 2yo crop includes a full-sister to his G1 BRC Queensland Derby hero Dark Dream.  Their dam Buchanan Girl (Lion Hunter) was pensioned by owner-breeder Mary Jane Basson last year.

Manhattan Rain (Encosta de Lago) is a half-brother to Australian Champion Redoute’s Choice and stands for a $5,500 service fee at Geisel Park alongside Aysar ($8,800) and Winning Rupert ($6,600).  Stud manager Conor Dunlop can be contacted for bookings or further details on 0447 434 735.
