Willaview Park couple Coel Hunter and Claire Williamson are on a roll with their sire A Lot (USA) and there’s more to come from their mare Mendicity who foaled yesterday’s Northam winner Mia Gusto.

Coel purchased Mendicity (Blackfriars) for a bargain-based $1,250 at the 2024 Scenic Lodge Unreserved Dispersal and she foaled a colt by A Lot last month.

Mia Gusto and 3kg claimer Holly Nottle saved ground along the rails to claim the leaders in a tight finish to the TABtouch Hcp (1300m).  The Adam Durrant-trained mare has now earned $250,000 and she finished a busy Thursday of winning links to A Lot (USA)

Zoomachino (Maschino) had opened the meeting breaking her duck in the Procon Maiden (2212m).  That’s just what her page required as the third winner from Mungrup mare Cosmah Domination (Oratorio).

The first two were G1 Railway Stakes winner Bustler (Playing God) and G2 WA Derby winner A Lot Of Good Men (A Lot)!  Claire’s father Gray Williamson has a Playing God yearling filly and filly foal from Cosmah Domination at Mungrup.

Alot Of Dazzle (4m A Lot – Red Noire by Oratorio) won’t be long winning her maiden after an eye-catching third in the Avon Valley Toyota Maiden (1300m).  Facing the starter from the outside alley second time out, she was allowed to settle at the tail of field before motoring home under Joey Azzopardi.

It was a strong provincial maiden and the form should hold up as the placegetters – Kazana (Awesome Rock), Admire Astra (Admire Mars) and Alot Of Dazzle – progress deeper into this season.

Bryce McIntosh bought her dam Red Noire from the 2020 Mungrup Dispersal for $9,500 and put her in foal to A Lot the following month.  It’s a NZ family going to back to Group 1 winner D B Pin (Darci Brahma) and Champion NZ 2YO Filly Avantage (Fastnet Rock).  The pedigree also includes G2 WA Guineas winner King Saul (Flying Pegasus).

Red Noire has an A Lot yearling colt nominated for 2026 Perth Magic Millions.  Willaview also has an A Lot yearling filly from G1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) winner Kay Cee (Playing God) entered for the Swan Valley Sale.

“Kay Cee has also foaled an A Lot colt this season,” Claire said on Friday.  “They’re both outstanding types with a pedigree to match!”

Claire has a share in a Alot Of Dazzle with McIntosh and another A Lot (USA) 4yo mare showing promise is her homebred Four Seas who won an Albany maiden for trainer Casey Hunter in May before going out for an extended spell.

“Dad was looking for a different option to the Danehill and Northern Dancer lines when he purchased A Lot.” Claire recalled.  “He’s a great outcross as a son of Champion USA Sire Tapit and he held the North American record for 1400m on turf (1:19.23s).

“We are finding the A Lot stock, particularly the mares, are reaching their prime as four year-olds.  Four Seas looks amazing.  They take that little bit of time before putting it all together both mentally and with their body type.”

Claire stands A Lot (USA) with Phil Ibbotson at Westbury Park in Pinjarra for an $8,800 (inc GST) service fee.  For bookings or further information, contact Phil Ibbotson (0429 341 211) or Claire Williamson (0417 914 605).
