Amelia Park starts the 2026 yearling sale season for TBWA breeders with a Home Affairs – Dance Music filly at the Gold Coast Magic Millions next Tuesday, January 13.

Catalogued as Lot 203 on Day 1, she is the first of two fillies being offered (as agent) by Segenhoe Stud for Amelia Park.  The second is the Pinatubo – Longduan filly (Lot 485) on Day 3.

Segenhoe manager Peter O’Brien is no stranger to selling top-shelf yearlings on behalf of Amelia Park owner Peter Walsh and he’s very keen on the filly (pictured) from War Chant mare Dance Music who won five black-type races in Perth to Group 3 level in the 2021 La Trice Classic (1800m).

“She’s a leggy filly with beautiful quality,” O’Brien told ANZ Bloodstock News earlier this week.  “She will be well sought after on the back of a great start by Home Affairs this season.

“He could be the next big thing, based on the performances of his two-year-olds in Australia and New Zealand.

“That’s surprised me because I thought the earliest Home Affairs stock would be performing in the late autumn because they’re big horses.  So it’s really encouraging to see them coming out around Christmas.”

The Flemington Group 1-winning Coolmore Stud resident opened his Australian account with Guest House at Cranbourne on December 27 and he followed up with Kinnaird and Harvey Wallbanger who filled out a Group 2 quinella in the Eclipse Stakes (1200m) at Ellerslie on New Year’s Day.

Home Affairs (I Am Invincible) will lure all the big stables again this year.  Chris Waller bought 13 of his first-crop yearlings in 2025 and Gai Waterhouse took 10 home from the majors.

Amelia Park’s Pinatubo filly out of Written Tycoon mare Longduan (Lot 485) won’t be long having a pedigree update through her 3yo half-brother Hubble’s Dragon (Deep Field) who won a Belmont barrier trial on Monday.

Hubble’s Dragon is trained by Dan Morton and was last seen on raceday finishing second to Cape Leeuwin (I’m All The Talk) at Pinjarra in August.  Amelia Park sold him to Morton for $120,000 at the 2024 Perth Magic Millions.

Amelia Park is coming off a winning Ascot summer carnival with King Of Light (LR Belgravia Stakes) and Toropa (LR Jungle Dawn Classic).  Its Group 1 winning WA Horse Of The Year Amelia’s Jewel (Siyouni) also tested positive off maiden cover by Wootton Bassett (GB) just days before Coolmore Stud’s sire sensation died in September.

Amelia’s Jewel had been purchased by Coolmore’s Tom Magnier for $3.8million at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale in May 2025.

Amelia’s Jewel’s Irish-bred dam Bumbasina (Canford Cliffs) died in November.  Her 2yo colt and yearling filly were also conceived to southern hemisphere time by Champion French sire Siyouni (Pivotal).  The colt was sold by Segenhoe as agent for Amelia Park for $625,000 at last year’s Gold Coast Magic Millions when targeted by Ascot trainer Luke Fernie.
