I Love Ya Money notched the second win in as many days for Gingerbread Man’s 3yo division in the Countrywide Maintenance Maiden (1300m) at Northam on Thursday.

The Yarradale Stud sire had struck with another first time winner at Belmont’s midweek meeting when Hanselle looked a stayer in the making over 1700m at his fifth start for Alan Matthews.  His profile can be viewed here

They’re both untapped and will travel different paths in search of black-type next season.

I Love Ya Money (Photo / Western Racepix) went out a short-priced favourite at his second start for trainer Mitch Pateman and won as he pleased under Willie Pike.

He was unlucky first-up when stewards reported he was held up from on straightening until near the 250m but there were no traffic issues on Thursday

“That’s the monkey off my back,” Pike said after cruising home by over a length from the pacemaker Maurice’s Princess (Maurice).  “It’s my first winner for Mitch and this horse has ability.  We were confident and they didn’t go quick today and now he can step up in distance.”

I Love Ya Money (3g Gingerbread Man – Valentine’s Reward by Reward For Effort) was bred by Gold Front Thoroughbreds owners Alan and Sue Olive and he is a half-brother to the winners I Love Your Smile (Sebring) and Imperial Seal (Zoustar).

Gold Front bought their dam Valentine’s Reward for $115,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.  She is s 13yo half-sister to Victorian Listed winners Grand Duels (VRC Aurie’s Star Hcp) and Tszyu (Kilmore Cup).

A further remove down the page finds Limestone Park-bred local filly Panorama (Cheraw) who won the LR Sheila Gwynne Classic (1400m) at Ascot for Sir Ernest Lee-Steere in 1990.

Gingerbread Man (Shamardal) has sired 14 individual 3yo winners this season led by Herault who was also placed in last month’s LR Belmont Guineas (1600m) for Jason and Sarah Miller.  Yarradale stands Gingerbread Man and fellow resident Shooting To Win (Northern Meteor) for $5,500 (inc GST) service fees this year
