Andalady completed a hat-trick of Lark Hill barrier trials before winning on debut at Bunbury’s King’s Birthday meeting on Monday.
Andalady (3f Anders – Cape Lady by Charge Forward) is a Cape Falls Thoroughbreds homebred and comes from a black-type family fostered by Brett Fogarty in the south-west at Wilyabrup.
She went out an odds-on favourite in the WA Stockfeeds Maiden (1000m) and sat at the girth of Aura Magna (Magnus) before heading the front-runner into the straight only to be headed in turn by $61 longshot Capall Gasta (Splintex).
Not to be denied, Andalady fought back and reclaimed the lead for a narrow victory under Lucy Fiore. “She impressed at the trials but still has a lot to learn,” trainer Tiarnna Noske said. “Her attitude will take her a long way and a cross-over nose-band has helped. I think she’s got a good future.”
Andalady is a half-sister to Salty Miss (Astern) who was an Ascot winner for Fogarty and Noske on Gold Rush Day last December. Their dam Cape Lady (Charge Forward) has a yearling colt by Ozzmosis.

Cape Lady had also won her maiden as a 3yo on debut at Bunbury in October 2016 for Fogarty and trainer Simon Miller . She is a half-sister to Seannie (Sebring) who won a LR Supremacy Stakes (1000m) at Ascot for the same connections before transferring to Melbourne where she was Group 3 placed in the MVRC Typhoon Tracy Stakes (1000m).
Seannie foaled Hot Sea (Too Darn Hot) second-up at stud and he was Group 3 placed on debut in the MRC Chairman’s Stakes (1000m) at Sandown Lakeside last year. Fogarty brought him back to WA and he’s current with Summer Dickson at Port Kennedy. So is his unraced 3yo half-sister Autumn Sea (The Autumn Sun).
Seannie is named after Brett’s wife Annie and her new-season 2yo is a Bivouac colt named Bivouac Bay. Her latest is a Shinzo colt foaled last month.
Fogarty bought into the family when purchasing second-dam Uncanny Choice (Choisir). She retired unraced but, before going to stud, her half-sister Dubleanny (Dubleo) updated their page with Listed victories in the Creswick Stakes (1200m) and Straight Six (1200m) at Flemington.
