Splintex 2yo filly Swift Divide has opened the second-crop account of her Darling View Thoroughbreds sire with a professional debut in the Morley Growers Market Plate (1000m) on Belgravia Stakes Day at Ascot.
The Trevor Andrews-trained youngster is the 10th individual winner by Splintex (Snitzel) and the third to score at the first time of asking. She had the drop on Malastar (Tiger Of Malay) and saw off the favourite before holding quick-closers Turning Point (Playing God) and Ahab The Arab (Maschino).

“That’s how we hoped the race turned out,” Andrews said. “She was coming off a couple of nice trials at Belmont and jumped from an inside draw at her first start in an eight-horse field. It was a beautiful ride by Brad (Parnham) and she will learn a lot and derive more fitness from the race.
“We will see how she pulls up and recovers before making a call. She’s qualified for some of the better races after Christmas. She’s a Westspeed filly and was bred at Darling View by the Atwells.”
Darling View bought her dam Hazira (Capitalist) from Mt Hallowell Stud for $20,000 at the 2022 Inglis May (Early) Online Sale and sold Swift Divide to a Ryan Fuller-managed syndicate for $120,000 at the 2026 Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Hazira had retired unraced and second-dam Always Discreet (Exceed And Excel) is a full-sister to Just Discreet (G3 SAJC Spring Stakes), a three-quarter sister to Very Discreet (LR SAJC Durbridge Stakes) and a half-sister to Maybe Discreet (G1 SAJC Oaks).
Saturday’s result keeps Splintex in the Top 5 bracket for Australian second-season sires in the 2026-27 wins and winners categories. He’s in rare company together with Wild Ruler (Newgate), Pinatubo (Darley), Home Affairs (Coolmore) and Stay Inside (Newgate).
Splintex stands for $4,400 alongside Playing God ($49,500), Royal Patronage ($16,500) and Lightsaber ($6,600) at Darling View. All fees (inc GST). Brent Atwell can be contacted for bookings and/or information on 0408 648 100.
Playing God mare So Si God completed an opening double for the Darling View roster at Ascot on Saturday in the Westspeed Platinum Series Heat 1 (1200m). She was bred by Nuimara Farm from NZ mare So Imposing (Pentire) and sold for $40,000 to Doug Sedgwick at the 2024 Perth Magic Millions.
