Gold Front Thoroughbreds completed an interstate double with its Gold Coast Magic Millions graduates Outlandos (Dissident) and Outspoken Lad (Awesome Rock) on Saturday.

Outlandos claimed the ACY Security Stayer’s Cup (2600m) at Randwick to send his earnings through $700,000 for clients of John Sargent and two hours later Outspoken Lad was an emphatic winner of the Westspeed Platinum Hcp (1600m) at Belmont.

Sargent had freshened Outlandos (pictured) for the drop back in distance on Saturday after the seasoned stayer finished midfield in the Brisbane Cup (3200m) last start.

“He’s thriving and I was going to keep him up there for the Tattersall’s Cup (2400m) but he loves it here at Randwick.  I put full-cup blinkers on him today and that helped him concentrate.  He can be a bit lazy and was caught wide in Brisbane.”

Sargent will now weigh up whether to hit the road again with Outlandos and head to the $200,000 Grafton Cup (2350m) on July 13.  “It could be a nice race because he will be well-weighted and the trip up and back seems to be working well.”

Gold Front’s Alan and Sue Olive sold Outlandos through Newgate Farm for $300,000 at the 2018 Gold Coast Magic Millions and he ran a career-best second in the $1million Magic Millions Subzero (2400m) in January.

His dam Rocksan (Fastnet Rock) foaled Shalaa colt for the Olives last November.

Outspoken Lad is also gearing up for a staying campaign for trainers Ben and Dan Pearce.  He won on debut at Belmont as a spring 3yo and was competitive behind Alaskan God in the autumn when third in the LR Melvista Stakes (2200m) and fourth in the G2 WATC Derby (2400m).

“He came back for a summer prep but the tracks were too hard,” Ben Pearce said.  “He peeled off Jordan Rolfe’s horse (Kazkazi) and put them away today.”

Gold Front catalogued him through Attunga Stud at the 2020 Gold Coast Magic Millions where Pearce Racing bought him for $60,000.  He has returned $191,000 to date including Westspeed Platinum Bonuses of $60,500.

It was Outspoken Lad’s third win in five starts on soft or heavy tracks.  Gold Front resident Awesome Rock sired him from Out Spoken Lady (Galileo) who has already thrown multiple Stakes-winning filly Lady Cosmology (Universal Ruler).

Out Spoken Lady delivered another colt by Awesome Rock last September.  He stands at Gold Front for a $9,900 fee alongside Leonardo Da Hinchi ($3,000).
