Mogumber Park-bred graduate Magical Sequence completed a hat-trick for Karnup trainer Jason Miller and a syndicate managed by his wife Sarah when resuming from a spell in the Mrs Mac’s Hcp (1200m) on Saturday.

Magical Sequence (4m Rommel – Jinsky Magic by Ihtiram) had doubled up at Ascot in February and the first-up victory at Belmont made it 6 wins in 11 starts for a large stable syndicate.  It also indicated that strike-rate can keep bubbling while she keeps improving during a second winter campaign.

Positioned in a good spot from an inside gate yesterday, she was produced at the right time by Willie Pike to score by a half-length from Atlantic Spirit (Frosted) and Zourun Run (Zoustar).

The Millers bought Magical Sequence (Photo Western Racepix) for $77,500 from Mogumber Park at the 2023 Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale and she has earned connections over $200,000 including Westspeed Bonuses of $70,000.

“It’s a fantastic result and they’re up at Coral Bay for a holiday,” stable rep Jordie Rolfe said.  “They’ve always had confidence in her ability and were alarmingly confident when we spoke this morning.”

Rommel sired Magical Sequence from Ascot winner Jinsky Magic who is four-from-four at stud.  She was bred by Mogumber Park owners Colin Brown and Fiona Lacey as was Rommel’s RL Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) winner Maria Lucia.

Brayden Gaerth was aboard for her Pinjarra breakthrough in June 2025 before Pike took the reins.  “She did it well at the trials and knows how to get the job done.  She was edgy in the barriers but was tractable and it felt like the race was scripted perfectly when the runs came every time.”

Rommel (Commands) stands alongside Aysar (Deep Field) at Ridgeport Farm and both stallions are priced at $6,600 (inc GST) service fees.
