Forest View Farm’s two consignments offered on the Magic Millions Digital Sale platform this month have realised a combined turnover that exceeded $1.8 million.
The first Unreserved Dispersal comprised 26 lots with valuable mare Sminky Shorts (Snitzel ) topping trade at $365,000. She is the dam of star sprinter Super Smink (Super One) and was purchased by Victorian-based Three Bridges Thoroughbreds after spirited competition that reached 64 bids.
The second Unreserved Dispersal that closed on Wednesday included 13 yearlings led by a $55,000 first-crop colt by Oakland Park sire Ingratiating (Frosted) that was purchased by Fénix Racing. The newly-registered WA-based entity dominated bidding at the top-end of the leaderboard.
The Ingratiating colt (pictured) is from Irish-bred mare Rebel Assault (Excelebration) who won the LR Rockingham Stakes (1200m) at York in 2017 and her first foal Siren Assault (Rich Enuff) won the G3 WATC Gimcrack Stakes (1100m) in 2024.
Rebel Assault was purchased by WA-based Marina Investments for $105,000 in the first Forest View Farm draft earlier this month. She is due to deliver another Ingratiating foal off a September cover last year.
Her State Of Rest (Starspangledbanner) 2yo colt was purchased for $200,000 by agent Merrick Staunton acting for a Hong Kong client at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale in February.
Magic Millions Digital Sales have been a readymade platform for Peters Investments and its latest reductions included 4yo mare Acquired Taste (Pierro) bought by Ash Maley for $25,000 and 5yo mare Enchanted Miss (Per Incanto) purchased by WA-based Scarborough Investments for $15,000.
The Peters Investments 3yo filly Snowflake (Frosted) was a $10,000 bargain, even if she never faces the starter, for Amy Oliver who operates Windmill Park Thoroughbreds in Serpentine.
She’s a half-sister to Mystery Miss (Animal Kingdom), a Listed winner of the Belgravia Stakes (1200m), Belmont Guineas (1600m) and Belmont Oaks (2000m) in 2018-19 and Belmont specialist Mystical View (Canford Cliffs) who was also black-type placed in the 2020 LR Placid Ark Stakes (1200m) at Ascot.
Oliver was supported during the sale by David Houston and Charlotte Geoghegan at Magic Millions. “I’m quite new to the owner and breeder side of the industry,” she said. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I’m realising a dream that’s just so exciting.”
