De Grey Park bred a day-by-day double with Wild Things in Kalgoorlie on October 3 followed by Show The Way at Northam on October 4 and they can duplicate that double this weekend.
Show The Way won the Avon Valley Toyota Hcp (1400m) at Northam on Thursday and Wild Things can continue her successful run in the Brian Casey Hcp (1800m) at Ascot on Saturday. Both gallopers were bred in the south-west at Wonnerup and were sold by De Grey Park owner Peter Vincent through Alwyn Park (as agent) at Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sales.
Show The Way (5g Ducimus – From The Heart by Show A Heart) sold for $31,000 in the Swan Valley to Steve Kilner in 2023 and is raced in partnership with Neville & Carol Parnham and Tony Priolo.
Thursday’s victory sent his earnings through $215,000 including Westspeed Bonuses of $62,000 and winning jockey Laqdar Ramoly confirmed he was confident going into the race on the $2.80 favourite.

“It was a good win here last time and he gave me a good feel today. He responded when the others were coming. He got the bob in and can take the next step over further ground. He used to race fiercely but is a relaxed horse now.”
Show The Way is from a younger half sister to Adelaide sprinter Conservatorium (Royal Academy) who won a G2 Lee-Steere Stakes (1400m) and G3 Scahill Stakes (1400m) during a trip west for the 2013 Ascot summer carnival.
Wild Things (4m Playing God – Miss Wild by Gingerbread Man) has raced every month since May and goes up against a strong field in the Brian Casey Hcp (1800m) at Ascot tomorrow.
Trainer Dan Morton flagged an imminent spell following a Belmont victory in August but she lengthened nicely for a last-start win over 1760m on Kal Cup Day. “She took time to mature so we knew she was a long-term project,” Morton explained “She’s not a big mare but grinds out her wins and is going as well as ever.”
Wild Things was a $110,000 buy at the 2024 Perth Magic Millions and a Morton-managed syndicate has banked $175,000 including Westspeed Bonuses of $81,000 from her first 15 starts.
De Grey Park bred her using Champion WA Sire Playing God over an unraced daughter of LR Beaufine Stakes (1000m) winner Lady Wild (Wild Harmony). The black-type continues right down the page to 1973 WA Oaks (2400m) winner Paper Honey (Endless Honey).
